Clarity is the foundation of progress

What your Governor actually controls

Apr 5

Common misconception

Many people blame the Governor for everything from electricity bills to fuel scarcity—things outside their control.

How it actually works

Your Governor controls: state roads (not federal highways), state hospitals and secondary schools, land and housing within the state, agriculture support, commerce and industry within the state, state police oversight (though police remain federally controlled), water supply policy, and the state budget. They do NOT control electricity tariffs, fuel prices, federal highways, currency, or the national grid. These are Federal responsibilities under the Exclusive Legislative List.

Why it affects everyday life

When you protest fuel scarcity to your Governor, you are wasting your voice. When you demand better state roads, your Governor is the right target. Understanding your Governor's actual powers helps you protest effectively, vote wisely, and hold the right person accountable for the right things.

Key Takeaway

Your Governor controls state roads, hospitals, schools, and land. Not fuel prices. Not electricity. Not federal highways.
